Real Driving Emissions
Real Driving Emissions (RDE).
At Hyundai, we care about environmental protection and put great effort into meeting environmental regulations. Therefore, we are also committed to providing transparency on "Real Driving Emissions" (RDE). RDE represents the real emissions of a vehicle driven on public roads and under different conditions.
Introduced by the EU Regulation 427/2016, RDE tests are designed to measure the emission of pollutants in real driving conditions by using portable emission measuring systems (‘PEMS’). This enables a complete real-time monitoring of the key pollutants emitted by the vehicle, such as NOx. RDE tests complement a new, more realistic laboratory test procedure (‘WLTP test’).
