Swedish rising star Oliver Solberg steps up to the manufacturer team in 2022 after demonstrating an exciting pace in selected rounds last season. He will be co-driven by Elliott Edmondson.

Career.
The son of two-time WRC champion Petter Solberg, Oliver is one of the most exciting young talents in the world of rallying. Introduced to motorsport from a young age, the Swede was already competing in crosskarting by the age of eight, winning his first-ever race.
He collected numerous Nordic Crosskart championships over the following years before Oliver took the leap into professional rallying aged just 16 in the RallyX Nordic Championship. Oliver won five events over his two years in the series before his progression into WRC.
Since 2019, the 20-year-old has competed in WRC3, WRC2 and WRC, as well as ERC, and has shown pace and potential at every level.
Having competed with the i20 R5 and i20 N Rally2 cars on ten occasions in 2021, Oliver will share our third Rally1 car with Dani in 2022.

What is your ideal destination for a holiday?
The Snowy Mountains.
Which profession would you have chosen if you hadn’t become a rally driver?
I really enjoyed ice hockey as a kid, so maybe I would be playing that if I hadn’t chosen rallying.
What is your favourite food?
I love all kinds of food and I really enjoy cooking. But I’m going out, my preference is sushi.

Career.
Elliott began his rally co-driving career at only 16-years-old, and made his debut on the WRC circuit just two years later at the 2013 edition of Wales Rally GB.
For the next five years, the Brit proved himself as one of the best young co-drivers in the country, taking part in a number of rally championships all over the world.
In 2019, Elliott got his first taste of full WRC rallying and his since competed 12 times at the pinnacle of the sport.
Now aged 24, he teams up with Swedish youngster Oliver Solberg, who himself is only 20-years-old, to compete in our new Rally1 challenger.

As a child, I would travel rallies around the UK watching as a fan, and I can remember clearly the days of McRae/Grist and Burns/Reid.

What is your ideal destination for a holiday?
It would have to be somewhere in the Italian lakes, in the sun, with a bit of exploring. Nothing too energetic, just relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
Which profession would you have chosen if you hadn’t become a rally co-driver?
If I had not become a rally co-driver, my other dream from a child was always to become a pilot. It’s something I have explored, and I have a few hours flying light aircraft. It’s definitely something I’d like to have as a hobby one day.
What is your favourite food?
My favourite food is definitely tapas! There’s nothing better than lots of small plates of different dishes to enjoy slowly.
